Our purpose is to be the best we can; caring for our world, creating a good life for all, through beauty, ethics and sustainability.
Our salon was born in Chapel Street in the late 90s, becoming Sadler at the start of 2015. We set out to be the best, to be different, and a salon with a conscience. We care not just about the needs of our clients, but the society we live and trade in, together with the world as a whole. From choosing to work with only the very best eco brands in the world, to our renewable energy, LED lighting, computer controlled heating, efficient water controls, you couldn’t make a greener choice of salon!
Carbon Footprint We think of this in everything we do. From trying (it’s not always possible) to get milk from a farm just north of Dunstable, to working only with brands who think hard about their own carbon footprint. For instance Aveda is produced in a wind powered factory. Davines is a certified B Corp, reaching the highest levels of sustainability. Society We support ‘Redemption Roasters’ by buying their coffee when we can. This is roasted in Aylesbury prison, as part of a scheme to give young offenders a trade. We encourage clients who are cutting lots of hair off to send it to Little Princess Trust - a wonderful charity making real hair wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment. The natural world Every year we support the tremendous conservation work done around the world by ZSL, the charity behind Whipsnade. Our waste is 100% not to landfill, our toilet rolls are from ‘The Good Roll’ where possible. Our toilets are twinned with a school in Africa; both work on bringing clean water and safe sanitation to the world’s poorest.
We have a dream; to be a Certified BCorp. It’s not easy, it will take a long time. Like all aspiring BCorps, we believe; That we must be the change we seek in the world. That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered. That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all. To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.
